Our Story

The Opulent Squid was born of a passion to make jewelry that is both posh and peculiar. I am a self-taught artist who began with a box of old buttons and findings, some borrowed library books on jewelry making, and a passion to create beautiful, sustainable, affordable pieces that people would wear and love.

As an artisan, responsibility and sustainability are important to me, which is why I primarily use reclaimed and repurposed components to handcraft each item. Upcycling not only inspires my creativity, it also helps to minimize the amount of waste that goes to landfills. Vintage china, antique keys, religious relics, and interesting paper are some of the many items from which I draw inspiration. I hope you find something you love!

This nosy little puglet carefully inspects each piece to be sure it meets The Opulent Squid’s highest quality standards. He also likes to steal his mom's coffee when she isn't looking!

Marcel Noel, Chief Disruptor

Everything is a toy to this feisty little house tiger. It makes production a bit more difficult, but we love him regardless.
